Blame Not the Bard and Blackhawk Pipe Bands at Celtic Night Out
 
CELTIC NIGHT OUT, 6 pm, July 15, informal summer gathering with musical entertainment, refreshments, haggis, and cash bar. Join the Scottish American Society for a night of music and fun with a Celtic Night Out. Party along the lovely Rock River with us at Riverfront Grille, Rock Island.
Ticket includes hors d'oeuvres buffet and HAGGIS. Bagpipe performance by with Black Hawk Pipe Band, Irish/Scottish tunes by Eastern Iowa's Blame Not the Bard. Cash bar.

SAMHAIN, traditional fall festitival and bonfire marking the harvest and turning of the year, October 14, Mary and Greg Bouljon's house. Bring a dish to pass.

HAGGIS PREP February 25 9:30 a.m. at the Hawthorne home 4404 Royal Oaks Dr, Davenport Learn how the haggis, a historic and contemporary part of the Scottish cuisine,  is made!  Board meeting follows the haggis preparation.  All are welcome. 
 
ROBERT BURNS CELEBRATION & DINNER, 5:30 to 10:30 pm, Saturday, March 4 The Isle, Bettendorf: Full evening of traditional pageantry and fun with entertainment by the Blackhawk Pipes & Drums, Coppers & Brass traditional Celtic music trio, Colleen's Celtic Rhythm Dancers, and Scottish dance lessons. Get that reservation in by February 21 for the early bird discount. You don’t have to be a member or wear a kilt to attend so bring friends and family members for an evening you will enjoy! GRAND PARADE, St. Patrick's Society of the Quad Cities - 11 am, Saturday, March 18 . Due to cold, we skipped this one. Maybe next year! 
 
SAS BOARD MEETING: Saturday, March 25, 10:30 am, Rock Island Public Library Downtown, 2nd Floor. Any SAS member is welcome to attend.  
 
TARTAN DAY, Wednesday, April 5, at 6 p.m. at Front Street Brewery, 421 River Dr, Davenport (in the basement meeting room) If you have a tartan sash or kilt or bowtie, this is your opportunity to flaunt it in recognition of this American tradition called Tartan Day!
